We are the originator of the seersucker suit.
Our suit separates are made in the USA using only the finest Italian seersucker fabrics. Purchasing a Haspel is an investment into your individual style that celebrates the vibrant tapestry of New Orleans.
Made for a good time, seersucker is our anthem, our identity, and no one does it better.
Our seersucker is made of lightweight, breathable cotton. The pucker of the material allows the fabric to rise off of the skin which provides a cool, ventilated experience that’s also quick-drying.
Additionally, Haspel seersucker sport coats, unlike others, are purposefully unlined to allow maximum air flow to pass through the material. The linings are rich with intricate detail that create an elegant look inside and out.
Featured in our collection are a variety of curated seersucker pieces including shirts and shorts - modern iterations that boast the same ultra-cool and seemingly weightless qualities.
Seersucker is surprisingly not a fabric. It’s a process.
The process, called “slack tension weave” involves long and short threads wound onto narrow warp beams that create the stripe. The fabric is then pulled tightly and then slacked in opposite directions to create the “pucker.”
But the real answer is that seersucker is the timeless, season-less personal expression YOU want it to be.
Welcome to the New Orleans original.
