 | | Harry Truman keeps "cool" in Haspel | | |
The History of Haspel
Before the days of air conditioning, one of the ways a man could be well-dressed and still stay cool was to wear a Haspel suit.
Joseph Haspel started making men's suits in New Orleans in 1909, responding to a genuine need for lightweight clothing that satisfied the problem of maintaining one's style in a warm climate.
Today, the Haspel and Lipsey families, along with Neema Clothing, Ltd, are proud to re-introduce the Haspel name into the fashion marketplace. With a fashion history of over 90 years, Haspel looks forward to the future with innovative fabrication and timeless styling for the modern (and traditional) man. Haspel has also expanded its collection with year-round and seasonal products to "suit" all types.
For decades Haspel was a choice clothier for celebrities such as Humphrey Bogart, Clark Gable, and Cary Grant. Presidents such as Calvin Coolidge, Harry Truman, and FDR found that Haspel's poplins, seersuckers, and pincords correct for any occasion.
"Welcome Back," Haspel. Fashion has returned.
